The murals were commissioned by the New College of Florida Preschool and are inspired by the Montessori method in which small shapes fit together to create larger ones. The paintings are made up of patterns that go beyond simple forms to describe images of animals within their environments. The small butterflies, seahorses, and chicks are pieces of wood decorated by the school's students.
